The user selects circuit components and assigns values to their characteristic parameters. The program calculates the resulting light and dark current-voltage JV curves as well as the standard solar cell parameters from the light JV curve.
The circuit contains a diode J1 to represent the main junction of the solar cell, and the option of including several parallel components: (i) a secondary diode J2 to represent edge or junction recombination, (ii) a diode JH and resistor RH to represent localised Schottky shunting or regions of high recombination, and (iii) a resistor Rsh to represent an ohmic shunt resistance. The circuit also provides the option of including an ohmic series resistance Rs.

Welcome to the equivalent circuit calculator
In this version we have added a new feature "sweep mode" which allows the user to vary the value of one of the inputs across a range of values and observe the resulting curves and output data. We have also improved the export to Excel feature to add more data and avoid the warning when opening the file. A button to toggle the automatic updates has also been added to enable users with slow internet connections to make several input changes without the screen refreshing.
